Common Questions Before You Buy a Charger
Do I need a panel upgrade to install an EV charger? Sometimes. Older 100-amp panels with high existing loads often can't safely add a 50A charger circuit without upgrading. We can run a quick load calc and tell you for sure.
Hardwired or plug-in? Hardwired chargers can run at full capacity (48A continuous on a 60A circuit) and are required outdoors in many cases. Plug-in (NEMA 14-50) is capped at 40A continuous but offers portability.
How long does install take? Most home installs are completed in 3–6 hours, same day. Longer runs or panel upgrades add time.
